Charles Cheruiyot Keter is a Kenyan politician from Kericho County who has served in several senior government positions and has been active in national and county politics for over two decades.
2002–2013: Member of Parliament for Belgut Constituency.
2008–2013: Assistant Minister for Energy.
2013–2015: First Senator for Kericho County.
2015–2021: Cabinet Secretary for Energy and Petroleum under President Uhuru Kenyatta.
2021–2022: Cabinet Secretary for Devolution.
2023: Appointed by President William Ruto as Advisor on Great Lakes Region Affairs.

Charles Keter has declared his intention to contest the Kericho gubernatorial seat in the 2027 General Election. He is expected to be one of the main challengers in the race, setting up a highly competitive contest in the county
