Kathuri Murungi

Kathuri Murungi is a Kenyan politician currently serving as the Senator for Meru County and the Deputy Speaker of the Senate of Kenya, a position he assumed unopposed in September 2022. Before becoming senator, he represented South Imenti Constituency as a Member of Parliament from 2013 to 2022, where he chaired the Special Funds Accounts Committee overseeing critical development funds such as NG-CDF, Uwezo Fund, Youth Enterprise Fund, and Women Enterprise Fund. Academically, Murungi holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Natural Resources Management from Egerton University, and professionally he has worked as an environmental consultant and auditor, founding Kenface Enconsults (Africa) Ltd in 2003. His political career has been marked by a focus on environmental sustainability, accountability in public funds, and youth empowerment. In recognition of his performance, he was ranked among the best-performing senators in Kenya, highlighting his influence both in legislative oversight and community development.
