Moses Ndirangu Kiarie Badilisha, popularly known as Kiarie Badilisha, is the current Governor of Nyandarua County, Kenya, having assumed office in August 2022 under the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). He rose to prominence after defeating the incumbent Francis Kimemia with over 158,000 votes, marking a significant political comeback after his unsuccessful independent bid in 2017. Badilisha holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration with a focus on policy and planning, and his academic background strongly influences his governance style, which emphasizes institutional reforms, inclusive development, and digital transformation in public service delivery. Beyond politics, he is deeply rooted in community development through the Badicare Foundation, which supports vulnerable families, youth, women, and agricultural initiatives. His professional journey began in agribusiness, where he founded Badilisha Agribusiness Solutions in 2001, offering consultancy services to farmers and cooperatives.
