Paul Ongil (Babu Owino)

Paul Ongili, popularly known as Babu Owino, is a Kenyan politician, lawyer, and Member of Parliament for Embakasi East Constituency in Nairobi County. He was first elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2022 on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket. Before joining national politics, he rose to prominence as the Chairperson of the Students Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU). As of July 2026, Babu Owino has publicly declared his intention to run for Governor of Nairobi County in the 2027 General Election rather than seek another term as MP for Embakasi East
